This is one of five 230m³ intermittent kilns built for the heavy clay industry firing blue bricks.

 

With the need for a reduction cycle, the lining requirements were therefore high temperature and a high density lining in ceramic fibre.

This 16.5 metre long tunnel was manufactured for a sintering process. Purpose built to manufacture with improved economy, switching from a hard refractory lining to the more thermal efficient ceramic fibre lining.

Our teams of experience installers give our clients both quality and efficiency in all categories of linings, ranging from 1260^oC to 1600^oC in densities of 128kgm^-3 to 192kgm^-3. Also including composite modules.

We supply all types of laggings and seals such as ropes, tadpole and ladder tape, silicon sealant etc. plus cloths both woven and sewn. Also moist felts and rigidisers, cements, boards, veneers and bulk fibre etc.

We provide a waste fibre removal system using our Fibre Bunde system; this can be a one off service or on a long-term hire agreement.

We can provide a speedy repair service to existing kilns and furnaces, when required do to wear and tear as well as mechanical damage.

Typical electrical control panel to operate a three zone intermittent kiln, the latest kiln however, was fitted with a fourteen zone control system.

 

With our combustion and control department we are now able to single-handedly produce kilns, furnaces and afterburners etc.

Using a single burner this unit generates hot air, which is then transferred via ducting for use elsewhere on the site.

Our team of fully experienced fabricators, in our purpose built unit manufactured this project. It was checked and tested at various stages of production before going into service in the aluminium industry.

This furnace under construction has since gone into use in the forging industry. Following installation a temperature survey was carried out a Rolls Royce standard.
